The Usual

Footsteps through the backdoor
I can hear them run
This is not for everyone
But you asked for it

Flows like a golden shore
Yea I can feel the burn
You kill me with your words
Guess I asked for it

I don’t deserve the blame
My heart don’t work that way
The roads that we roll down don’t slow down for no one
But you asked for it

I won’t abuse the pain
My hearts intoxicated
My mind’s frustrated
A storm like a hurricane
All we do is go

Up going up go down
Go around this is us
The Usual
Wanderlust running blind
Time is never on our side
The Usual

When dark becomes light
The broken will rise
The Usual
Up up going up go down
Go around
This is us
The Usual

Running in circles receiving no light
I don’t wanna hurt you but this ain’t no life
We walk a tight line these tight ropes find our feet and we keep
Running, running, running
All we do is go

Up going up go down
Go around this is us
The Usual
Wanderlust running blind
Time is never on our side
The Usual

When dark becomes light
The broken will rise
The Usual
Up up going up go down
Go around
This is us
The Usual

Hello Mary Lou Goodbye Heart

Hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Sweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you
I knew, Mary Lou, we'd never part
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart

You passed me by one sunny day
Flashed those big brown eyes my way
And ooh I wanted you forever more
Now I'm not one that gets around
Swear my feet stuck to the ground
And though I never did meet you before

I said hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Sweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you
I knew, Mary Lou, we'd never part
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart

I saw your lips, I heard your voice
Believe me, I just had no choice
Wild horses couldn't make me stay away
I thought about that moonlit night
My arms around you good an' tight
That's all I had to see for me to say:

Hey, hey, hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Sweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you
I knew, Mary Lou, we'd never part
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart

Gordo

1958, im Dezember, draußen ist es heiß.
Sie hol'n ihn aus seinem Käfig.
Erst herrscht Hektik und

überall Männer in weiß.
Er bekommt einen Helm aufgesetzt
kann kaum geradeaus sehn.
Traurig schaut er zu Miss Baker.
Kratzt sich am Hals.
Sie räum'n die Startrampe frei.

Der Countdown läuft, alles bebt
und dann hebt er ab.
Wolken ziehen vorbei.
(Wolken ziehen vorbei)

alles gemacht was ihr sagt.
Wann ist es vorbei?
(Wann ist es vorbei?)
Endlich vorbei?
(Endlich vorbei?)

Kann ich zurück?
Kann ich zurück?

Alles wackelt, alles kühlt,
mir ist heiß, was habt ihr gemacht?
Seid ihr verschwunden?
(Seid ihr verschwunden?)
Hallo da unten?
(Hallo da unten?)
Es wird hell, blitzschnell
die Kapsel fällt und fällt weiter hinab.
14 Minuten,
(14 Minuten)
und 60 Sekunden.
(und 60 Sekunden)

14 Minuten und 60 Sekunden.
Dann ist alles vorbei

Journey to The Past

Heart, don't fail me now!
Courage, don't desert me!
Don't turn back now that we're here.
People always say
Life is full of choices.
No one ever mentions fear!
Or how the world can seem so vast
On a journey ... to the past.
Somewhere down this road
I know someone's waiting
Years of dreams just can't be wrong!
Arms will open wide.
I'll be safe and wanted
Fin'lly home where I belong.
Well, starting now, I'm learning fast
On this journey to the past Home, Love, Family.
There was once a time
I must have had them, too.
Home, Love, Family,
I will never be complete
Until I find you...
One step at a time,
One hope, then another,
Who knows where this road may go
Back to who I was,
On to find my future.
Things my heart still needs to know.
Yes, let this be a sign!
Let this road be mine!
Let it lead me to my past
And bring me home...
At last!

The Legend of Wooley Swamp

Well, if you ever go back into Wooley Swamp,
Well, you better not go at night
There's things out there in the middle of them woods
That'd make a strong man die from fright
Things that crawl and things that fly
Things that creep around on the ground
And they say the ghost of Lucius Clay gets up and he walks around

But I couldn't believe it,
(I) just had to find out for myself
And I couldn't conceive it,
(I) never would listen to nobody else
And I couldn't believe it,
(I) just had to find out for myself
There's some things in this world you just can't explain

The old man lived in the Wooley Swamp
Way back in Booger Woods
And he never did do a lot of harm in the world
He just never did do no good
People didn't think too much of him
They all thought he acted funny
The old man didn't care about people anyway
All he cared about was his money
He'd stuff it all down into Mason jars and bury it all around
But on certain nights if the moon was right
He'd dig it up out of the ground
Then he'd pour it all out on the floor of his shack
And he'd run his fingers through it
Yeah, Lucius Clay was a greedy old man
And that's all there ever was to it

But I couldn't believe it,
(I) just had to find out for myself
And I couldn't conceive it,
(I) never would listen to nobody else
And I couldn't believe it,
(I) just had to find out for myself
There's some things in this world you just can't explain

The Cable boys were white trash,
They lived over on Carver's Creek
They were mean as a snake and sneaky as a cat
And belligerent when they'd speak
One night the oldest brother said
Ya'll meet me in the Wooley Swamp later
We'll take old Lucius' money
And we'll feed him to the alligators
They found the old man at the back
With a shovel in his hand
And thirteen rusty Mason jars
he'd just dug up out of the sand
Then they all went crazy and they beat the old man
And they picked him up off the ground
Then they threw him in the swamp and they stood there and laughed
As the black water sucked him down
And then they turned around and went back to the shack
And they picked up the money and ran
Hadn't gone nowhere when they realized
That they were running in quicksand
And they struggled and they screamed
But they couldn't get away
And just before they went under
They could hear that old man laughing
In a voice as loud as thunder

Now that's been fifty years ago
And if you go by there yet
There's a spot in the yard in the back of that shack
Where the ground is always wet
And on certain nights if the moon is right
Down by that dark footpath
You can hear three young men screaming
And you can hear one old man laugh

If you ever go back into Wooley Swamp,
Well, you better not go at night
There's things out there in the middle of them woods
That'd make a strong man die from fright
Things that crawl and things that fly
Things that creep around on the ground
And they say the ghost of Lucius Clay gets up and he walks around

But I couldn't believe it,
(I) just had to find out for myself
And I couldn't conceive it,
(I) never would listen to nobody else
And I couldn't believe it,
(I) just had to find out for myself
There's some things in this world you just can't explain
