Legends of Cutting

The legends were young
when the range was still open
The cattle still roamed on the land
and they watched and they listend
They learned from the old ones
the business of makin' a hand
They still remember the days
with the wagon
working cattle in the old cowboy way
and though times have changed
the legends ride on
and they're still riding with us today

[Chorus:]
Buster and Shorty
Matlock and Don
Mr. Pat is still horseback still keeping on
There is a new generation
and they are coming on strong
but where would we all be today
if the legends of cutting
had not shown us the way

[Chorus:]
Buster and Shorty
Matlock and Don
Mr. Pat is still horseback still keeping on
There is a new generation
and they are coming on strong
but where would we all be today
if the legends of cutting
had not shown us the way

Good Directions

I was sitting there selling turnips on a flatbed truck
Crunching on a pork rind when she pulled up
She had to be thinking, 'this is where rednecks come from'
She had Hollywood written on her license plate
She was lost and looking for the interstate
Needing directions and I was the man for the job

I told her way up yonder past the caution light
There's a little country store with an old Coke sign
You got to stop in and ask Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Then a left will take you to the interstate
But a right will bring you right back here to me

I was sitting there thinking about her pretty face
Kicking myself for not catching her name
I threw my hat and thought, you fool, that could have been love
I knew my old Ford couldn't run her down
She probably didn't like me anyhow
So I watched her disappear in a cloud of dust

I told her way up yonder past the caution light
There's a little country store with an old Coke sign
You got to stop in and ask Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Then a left will take you to the interstate
But a right will bring you right back here to me

Is this Georgia heat playing tricks on me
Or am I really seeing what I think I see
The woman of my dreams coming back to me

She went way up yonder past the caution light
Don't know why, but something felt right
When she stopped in and asked Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea
Mama gave her a big old glass and sent her right back here to me

Thank God for good directions and turnip greens

The Virgin Queen

Panda-ghost-face
Oh, dear me I do still ponder on
The old 'first question' I ever raised
Was by mistake, a 'singular' one.

Handsome and straight
I only detect the safety of denial
The 'masculinear', slap in the face
There are some tears I shall never cry

Brothers in arms I tend to ignore
I am sadly waving a sigh
From the other shore
It is by far not an easy thing
To delight the barrent heart
Of the Virgin Queen.

There is not a man walking this earth
That I would like to watch
I do not care about your pretty face
I never thought about your crotch!
I do not marvel at your body
Be it athletic or fat
I do not long for your sick kiss
There is no room for you in my bed!

There's no magic-man wandering here,
Whose wand I'd want to touch!
Well, I don't mind a handsome face
But none shall ever make me blush!
I never bowed before a statue
For I'm the Gorgon's work of art,
I am not dying to be kissed
There's no fire in my well-sedated heart

Sailors, soldiers, cops and rangers
And fire-fighters too ...
Some like a man in uniform, well, I confess ... I do.

Auf Pfederucken wohnt das Gluck
Schau, dieser hengst ist gut bestuckt!

It is, by far, not an easy thing
To delight the heart of the Virgin Queen

Oh, sailors, soldiers, cops, and rangers
Fire-fighters too
Some like a man in uniform
And our queen does too.
But she is married to the throne
The royal sceptre that she holds
She made the greatest sacrifice
For the poses she's destined to strike!

We're sailors, soldiers, cops and rangers,
Fire-fighters too,
We're marching men in uniform
Our queen is fair and true
Oh, she's so lonely on her throne
Cold is the sceptre that she holds
She made the greatest sacrifice
For the poses that she's destined to strike

Brothers in arms I tend to ignore,
I am sadly waving a sigh from the other shore
It is by far not an easy thing
To delight the barren heart of the Virgin Queen

Brothers in arms she tends to ignore
She is sadly waving a sigh
From the other shore
It is by far not an easy thing
To delight the barren heard
Of the Virgin Queen ...

Pack A Punch

Friends, neighbors, ladies, gentlemen,
If you're feeling underpowered,
I'll help you make amends,
Stick your weapon in the slot,
And let it change your luck,
Few things in life are guaranteed,
But I promise this wont suck
Punch your fists into the air,
And raise a rebel yell!
There's lotsa baduns out there
You need to send to hell.
With Pack-A-Punch I have a hunch,
Your problems will be gone,
But if you end up on the ground,
Sing a country western song.
Pack-A-Punch (everybody!),
Pack-A-Punch (yee-haw!),
Pack-A-Punch,
Pack-A-Punch,
Pack-A-Punch (everybody!),
Pack-A-Punch,
Pack-A-Punch (yee-haw!),
Pack-A-Punch (WOOOOHOO!)

Out of the depths Psalm 130

Lord, from the depths to thee I cried.
My voice, Lord, do thou hear:
Unto my supplications' voice
give an attentive ear.

Lord, who shall stand, if thou, O Lord,
should'st mark iniquity?
But yet with thee forgiveness is,
that fear'd thou mayest be.

I wait for God, my soul doth wait,
my hope is in his word.
More than they that for morning watch,
my soul waits for the Lord;

I say, more than they that do watch
the morning light to see.
Let Israel hope in the LORD,
for with him mercies be;

And plenteous redemption
is ever found with him.
And from all his iniquities
he Isr'el shall redeem.
